Computational Thinking Practices are critical for all students to learn. They form the cornerstone of the language of innovation, and will drive all future STEM discoveries. They are a new set of “basic skills” that all students need to know.
The Tenor High School Robotics course uses Lego Mindstorm Robotics kits along with RobotC programming software to teach these skills.
Students will start out learning the simple basics of robotics; how to make the robot move, how to make the robot turn, etc... Then sensors are added to enable students to program the robots to make "smart" decisions. Students will also learn about emerging new robotic technologies.
Students will learn to use precise logical thinking, using data to make decisions, analyzing problems, and building solutions in teams. Critical skills in all forms of problem solving, not just robotic ones. And they will have fun learning these skills.
